Responsibilities

• Stand watches in the central control monitor room; monitor engine room equipment and gauges; start, stop and adjust machinery as needed.
• Perform routine repairs to operating machinery during watches and assist with major repairs.
• Supervise junior engineers and review work to ensure proper maintenance and operation of all engine room equipment.
