The Department of Transportation in Pennsylvania is seeking a Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of vehicles and construction equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and conduct safety inspections to ensure safe operation.

The role requires CDL Class A/B, a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and Pennsylvania Class 7 Inspection Certification, with potential on-site travel and overtime based on needs.

Qualificações

• Completion of the Commonwealth Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program or 2 years journey-level mechanic experience in diesel/ construction equipment.
• Alternatively, an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Active Class A or Class B CDL required on first day of employment.
• This position requires an active Medical Examiner’s Certificate on the first day of employment.
• This position requires a Pennsylvania Class 7 Inspection Certification on the first day of employment.
• This position requires possession of an active Tank Vehicle Endorsement (N) within the probationary period.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and fix issues on vehicles, trucks, tractors, and construction machinery.
• Inspect, service, and maintain engines, cooling systems, brakes, transmissions, and electrical components.
• Perform official safety and emissions inspections and complete required records.
• Use testing tools to identify mechanical problems and select repair methods.
• Follow safety rules, report hazards, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Make on-site adjustments and minor repairs to keep equipment operating safely.
