Job summary

TransWest in Seattle, WA is hiring skilled automotive technicians to maintain and repair motorcoaches, shuttle buses, and fleet vehicles. You will diagnose engine, electrical, brake, and HVAC systems, perform preventive maintenance, and help keep thousands of passengers moving safely every day.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED required; vocational automotive or heavy‑duty diesel training favored.
• Experience maintaining and repairing vehicles or completion of a related program.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, brake, powertrain, steering, suspension, HVAC, and related systems.
• Experience with transit buses, motorcoaches, or fleet equipment preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment DOT drug screen and obtain MEC.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on motorcoaches and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, HVAC, electrical, and drivetrain components.
• Review defect reports and maintenance schedules to minimize road calls and maximize availability.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts inventory, and repair documentation.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot systems and implement repairs.
• Conduct road tests and field service calls to verify repairs and respond to breakdowns.
• Support installation and troubleshooting of onboard technology including telematics and Wi‑Fi equipment.
