First Student is hiring a Diesel Technician to service school buses in Scott City, MO. The role focuses on keeping buses safe and reliable, with day-shift hours, and opportunities for career growth across locations in the U.S. & Canada.

Expect ASE training opportunities and company-paid CDL training as part of a comprehensive benefits package. The position offers an hourly wage with bonuses for ASE tests, plus paid holidays, vacation, and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience.
• Vehicle diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Possession of a mechanic's tool set.
• Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program.
• Strong computer skills.
• Note: This position is safety-sensitive and subject to DOT drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose and repair brakes, engine, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Complete work orders accurately.
• Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed.
