Job summary

Greyhound Bus Lines Inc in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of diesel-powered coaches. You will perform high‑quality routine inspections and repairs to keep vehicles safe and road‑ready for our drivers and passengers.

The role requires 2+ years of professional diesel experience, own basic tools, a valid driver's license (CDL encouraged), and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience as a diesel mechanic
• Own your own basic shop tools - specialty and shop tools provided
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• CDL eligibility (we’ll help cover the cost)
• Must be able to do shift work – evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, stand long periods, and work under vehicles
• ASE certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and coach components
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Repair or replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, and brakes
• Maintain accurate service records
• Follow safety procedures and company protocols
• Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and maintenance manager about status and timelines
• Stay up to date on diesel engine technologies and repair techniques
