Job summary

Hale's Diesel & Auto Repair is seeking an experienced A/B-Level Auto Technician to join its Midland, TX team. The role emphasizes diesel diagnostics, factory-level equipment, and a strong focus on accurate repairs.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with paid training, uniforms provided, and a Midwest-style team approach. A 100-hour guarantee applies during the first 30 days, plus quarterly bonus opportunities for the shop.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of relevant automotive repair experience.
• Strong hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel-engine pickup trucks.
• Advanced diagnostic, electrical, drivability, and general mechanical repair skills.
• Experience working on domestic vehicles, particularly Chevrolet, Ford, and Dodge.
• Must have your own professional technician tools.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
• Digital vehicle inspection experience and EPA Section 609 A/C certification are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel pickup trucks across engine, electrical, drivability, steering, suspension, braking, HVAC, transmission, and related vehicle systems.
• Perform advanced automotive diagnostics and troubleshoot vehicle concerns accurately.
• Complete major mechanical repairs as well as general automotive repair and maintenance.
• Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment, including the shop’s Snap-on ZEUS and available OEM diagnostic resources.
• Perform and document digital vehicle inspections using Tekmetric.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly through the shop’s established workflow.
• Work collaboratively with the shop foreman, service advisor, and other technicians to complete quality repairs efficiently.
• Perform work in a role consisting of approximately 90% diagnostic work and 10% general maintenance.
