Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a Die Setter for the Weekend Shift. The role offers hourly pay between $23.00 and $29.76 with a 11.12% shift premium for weekend hours. Core hours are 6AM to 6PM Friday through Sunday.

You will operate dies, move materials, assist machinists, follow blueprints, and maintain equipment safety. Requires high school diploma or GED and at least six months of die-setting experience; no immigration sponsorship; within 50 miles of

Responsibilities

• Operate die setting duties and perform work from instructions and BOMs.
• Deliver materials to workstations and ensure correct documentation.
• Assist lower-level sheet metal fabricators and operators as needed.
• Perform prep work (degrease, deburr, grind) and inspect parts as required.
• Maintain equipment and keep a clean, safe work area; observe health and safety policies.

CORE HOURS: 6AM - 6PM (FRIDAY - SUNDAY)

What you’ll do:

• Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions.
• Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas.
• Provide assistance to lower-level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required.
• Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment, position work material on coil cradle / feeder. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion.
• Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components.
• Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation / record keeping may be required.
• Operate punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems.
• Transport die for installation and calibration using forklift.
• Maintenance of equipment such as punches, dies, hydraulic clamping systems, material feeder systems, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion, keeping oil deposits off of floor.
• Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified.
• Dismantle previous set-ups after termination of order. Move dies to tool room if sharpening or maintenance is required.
• Adjust all presses with power and / or automatic feeds at initial set-up and during production.
• Clear jams and malfunctions. Administer trial runs and first-part inspection.
• Accountable for proper operation and placement of all safety-related equipment during set-up, operator briefing and production.

Qualifications:

• Must have a High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Must have a minimum of six months experience setting dies in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with machine operation
• Previous experience with operating a punch press machine

Position Criteria:

• Demonstrated proficiency with drawings and/or blueprints.
• Able to drive a forklift and obtain forklift certification.
