Responsibilities include setting up PLC/Analog/manual machines, producing parts, inspecting against specs, maintaining tools, and completing paperwork. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills; machining cert is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Machining certificate is a plus.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, protractors, tape).
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret writings.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety rules and hygiene regulations.
  • Understand/receive work assignments from Supervisor.
  • Perform initial setup for PLC, Analog, or Manual machines.
  • Operate equipment to produce parts.
  • Interpret work orders, Kanban cards, and drawings.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and system transactions.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials for continuous operation.
  • Inspect final components against work specifications.
  • Perform operator maintenance on machining equipment.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new Operators.
  • Perform TPM and 5S+ responsibilities daily.
  • Complete any other tasks from management or leads.

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a FAB Machine Operator - 2nd Shift.

This position is based at our Arden, NC location.

The hourly rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The essential function of the FAB Machine Operator is to perform technical fabrication operations on raw materials throughout the Fabrication Department using metal processing machinery.

  • A. Observe all safety rules and hygiene regulations
  • B. Understand / Receive work assignments, oral or written instructions from Supervisor
  • C. Perform initial set-up for operation on PLC, Analog, or Manual controlled machines
  • D. Operate equipment/machinery to produce parts
  • E. Interpret work orders including written, Kanban cards, and drawings
  • F. Complete necessary paperwork and system transactions
  • G. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials for continuous operation
  • H. Inspect final component against work specifications
  • I. Perform necessary operator maintenance on machining and fabrication equipment
  • J. Report abnormal situations and submit maintenance work orders to maintain equipment
  • K. Provide on-the-job training for new Operators
  • L. Perform TPM and 5S+ responsibilities daily
  • M. Complete any other assigned tasks from management or leads
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution
  • Basic Computer skills – Microsoft Office(Word), Internet, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Machining Certificate
  • Previous experience in Fabrication
  • DMM experience
  • Able to read calipers, protractors and tape measures
  • Able to read blueprints
Position Criteria:
  • Able to lift 35 pounds – waist, shoulder, overhead
  • Proven history of safe work habits and good attendance
  • Must be able to work effectively without direct supervision
  • Must be able to work overtime – weekdays and weekends
