Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Pontiac, MI is hiring for a Die Setter on large and small progressive, secondary and transfer presses. This role supports quality, safety, and continuous improvement within a tier 1 automotive supplier environment.

You will set and change dies, load dies, and position guarding while following JES and process sheets. This shift-based role requires reliability and strong measurement skills to meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to safely perform duties.
• 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Metal stamping experience preferred.
• Die setting in stamping preferred.
• Lock out tag out experience preferred.
• Press operating experience preferred.
• Takes responsibility and is thorough and reliable.
• Willing to work up to 12 hours per day, including weekends.
• Basic measurement and math skills required.
• Knowledge of controls systems for programming purposes.
• Ability to operate Hilo/ Die Truck.

• Stops work and contains defective material when detected.
• Positions, clamps dies/tools, feed guides, and guarding.
• Threads metal strips from coils and loads dies/tools with blanks.
• Installs dies, ejection systems, air blasts, and die protection devices.
