Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a full-time press operator at the Belleville Plant 2 in Belleville, MI. You will set up dies, fixtures, and assemblies, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure procedures meet MIOSHA standards.

Responsibilities include running presses, maintaining records, and assisting engineering with new dies. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork within a production environment.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide; compute rates, ratios and percentages.
• Reasoning ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Working conditions details provided during interview process.

Responsibilities

• Set up dies, fixtures or assemblies in accordance with MIOSHA standards and procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures with appropriate personnel.
• Set press to optimum speed and feed to improve efficiency.
• Maintain production and quality records.
• Operate press when needed in absence of other operators.
• Start machine for first-run piece and verify tolerances.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance and setup (die setting, lubrication).
• Recommend process/equipment adjustments to meet standards and requirements.
