Job summary

Chicago Metallic is seeking a Die Setter to inspect, position, and change dies with precision. You will read detailed drawings, train operators, manage tools and scrap, and coordinate with the press team to ensure correct die positioning and efficient changeovers.

The role requires hands-on experience with metalworking equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A competitive benefits package accompanies the position.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Knowledge of powered hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed product drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with metal spinning or spin forming lathe/machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections and use the proper measuring tools.
• Fill out inspection forms.
• Read and interpret detailed product and piece part drawings.
• Keep track of scrap.
• Assign and train production operators in the area.
• Acquire and maintain necessary tools for the position.
• Keep given work area clean and organized.
• Remove die from the machine by leaning, bending and hooking die to chain attached to the fork of forklift.
• Operate press to ensure correct die positioning and changeover timing.
