Job summary

US Farathane in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an experienced Die Setter. You will be responsible for machine set-ups for primary and secondary tooling, scheduled and unscheduled, and for ensuring die readiness.

Key duties include mold changes, die set-up tasks such as water, knockout, hot runner hydraulics and pneumatics, repairing leaks, maintaining die storage, and accurate paperwork in compliance with OSHA and USF policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mold changes per production schedule and emergency mold changes.
  • Set up all die-related functions (watering of the die, knockout, hot runner setup, hydraulics, pneumatics).
  • Repair any fluid or air leaks relating to the die.
  • Manage die insert changes and die halves during repair.
  • Load/unload die carrying trucks and maintain die storage.
  • Order and organize die setting supplies and ensure paperwork is filed timely.
  • Complete initial shooting of die sets where applicable and follow OSHA/USF rules.

US Farathane is seeking an experienced Die Setter. The Die Setter is directly responsible for the machine set-ups including primary and secondary equipment both scheduled and unscheduled.

We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all mold changes done per the production schedule and all emergency mold changes.
  • Responsible for the proper set-up of all die related functions such as watering of the die, knockout, hot runner set-up, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
  • Responsible for repairing any fluid or air leaks relating to the die.
  • Responsible for any and all die insert changes.
  • Responsible for the pulling and resetting of all die halves specifically for the purpose of die repair.
  • Responsible for the loading and unloading of all die carrying trucks.
  • Responsible for maintaining the orderly appearance of all die storage.
  • Responsible for the ordering of, and the orderly appearance of, all die setting supplies including the removal of all said supplies from the molding machine.
  • Responsible for the initial shooting of all die sets where applicable.
  • Responsible to ensure all paperwork is completed, submitted and filed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to follow all OSHA and safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible to follow all USF policies and procedures.
