Job summary

Dowding Industries, Inc. in Michigan seeks a Tool and Die Repair Technician to set up and operate dies, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair damaged tooling.

You will read engineering drawings, measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, and work with production to improve setup times and plant reliability.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Set up and operate tool/ die equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair damaged dies.
• Provide part quality checks during production.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair dies and tooling components.
• Measure and test dies with precision instruments.
• Determine product dimensions and tolerances.
• Monitor die accuracy during fabrication.
• Install and repair die tooling with stamping presses.
• Identify root causes of defective parts and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with Production to reduce setup times and downtime.
• Use hand tools and machines like mills, grinders, lathes, drills.
• Read drawings and use precision measuring equipment.
