Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a Die Cutting Operator to set up and run die-cutting equipment for folding cartons. You will review tickets, set up dies, and ensure on-spec products are delivered to finishing while maintaining safe operation.

Responsibilities include routine machine maintenance, housekeeping around the press, and willingness to work 8-hour shifts with overtime as required. Prior experience with die-cutting machinery is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with die-cutting machinery preferred.
  • Willing to work 8-hour shifts and overtime; alternate schedules sometimes.
  • Ability to stand and lift moderate weights; PPE use as required.

Die Cutting Operator
Mission / Summary

Sets up and operates machine to cut folding cartons by performing the following duties.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
  • Review job ticket.
  • Conducts pre-make ready as required.
  • Setting-up die, counter plates, stripping section and press.
  • Pulling front trim as required.
  • Clean counter plates and strip down dies that are locked up.
  • Clean area around press.
  • Perform maintenance as required.
  • Deliver cut cartons to finishing department.
Background / Experience / Education

Schedule Demands

Must be able to work 8 hour shifts plus overtime as required.

Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

  • Frequent stair climbing, kneeling, crouching, balance, forward bending/standing, right and left hand coordination.

  • Wear PPE when required: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection etc.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
