Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Groveport, OH is seeking a Die Cutter Operator to ensure quality cartons are produced safely. You will set up Bobst Die Cutters 145 and 162, perform pre-make ready, and adjust feeds, ensuring alignment with customer standards.

You will run the cutter efficiently, maintain records, perform preventative maintenance, train new operators, and work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Working knowledge of Die Cutters.
• Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up press and adjust for new product sheets being cut (feeder, die, stripper, blanker).
• Be able to set guides, feeders and load dies into cutting press with assistance (approx. 150 lbs).
• Inspect quality of each load run and tag defective loads.
• Flag and isolate poorly produced materials and correct issues before continuing the order.
• Maintain written records of production, waste and time; perform PM on cutters.

Role

• In accordance with company policies and procedures, work to ensure quality cartons are produced, machine speeds and customer standards are maintained safely.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge and experience with operating Bobst Die Cutters 145 and 162.
• Responsible for press make ready: adjust press to accommodate for new product sheets being cut (set feeder, lock up die, set stripper, blanker, and delivery).
• Be able to set guides, feeders and load dies (weighing approx. 150 lbs.) into cutting press with assistance.
• Inspect quality of each load run: responsible for checking random sheets from each cut load to ensure high quality standards.
• When cutting problems are encountered, the Operator is to flag and isolate poorly produced materials (all defective loads are to be tagged).
• Operator is to make proper corrections before continuing the order.
• Must be able to perform Pre-Make ready and Die-Prep duties
• Maintain written records of production. Records of waste, production time, waiting time etc. are to be kept.
• Responsible for running die cutter as efficiently as possible and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on all cutters.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
• Verification of materials running on load.
• Assist in training and orientation of new operators/operator trainees assigned to the machine center.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

• Ability to read, understand and follow job jacket instructions.
• Knowledge of location and use of all safety devices in area.
• Must be coordinated to perform job safely and quickly.
• Use of Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software
• Bobst Die Cutters, electric hand pallet jack and company provided tooling.

Education And Experience

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Working knowledge of Die Cutters.
• Mechanical aptitude.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to tolerate repetitious work.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to keep up with machine speeds.
• Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time; 12 hours shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Must not be colorblind.
• Must be able and willing to work any shift and overtime.
