Job summary

International Paper in Griffin, GA is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to operate and maintain converting equipment safely and efficiently. You will monitor production runs, adjust setups, and ensure outputs meet quality specifications while following all safety and GMP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be able and willing to perform and sustain productivity goals.
• Ability to problem solve with minimal assistance.
• Provide daily feedback to supervisor regarding shift/machine activity.
• Be able to interpret and understand factory master.
• Must have basic arithmetic and data entry skills.
• Must understand machine lineup and operation.
• Able to interpret written, oral, diagram or schedule forms.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
• Makes ready, operates and maintains the equipment.
• Observes and monitors machine operations for malfunctions.
• Identifies, troubleshoots and corrects product defects caused by the machine.
• Performs routine adjustments during the machine run and sustains production.
• Sets up and operates machine meeting specifications.
• Ensures all orders are completed to specifications including special instructions.
• Identifies and makes basic repairs to the machine.
• Ensures operation of die cutter and related equipment via basic preventive maintenance.
• Runs the machine meeting production goals.
• Maintains housekeeping standards at all times.
• Trains Assistant Operator and others as needed.
• Conducts operations with safety in mind.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Complies with IP safety rules and quality policies.
• Keeps records and reports accurately.
• Other duties as assigned by managers or shift leaders.
