Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an experienced Die Cut Operator for the Spartanburg, SC plant on the third shift (9:00 PM – 5:00 AM). The role focuses on setting up the machine for production, operating the die-cut equipment, and ensuring quality and safety standards throughout the shift.

Candidates should have die cut experience, printing capability, and the ability to read safety rules, operate manuals, and measure materials with a tape measure.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up the machine for the production run (sheets, dies, etc.).
• Operate the machine following SOPs and instructions.
• Evaluate production quality and raise concerns as needed.
• Perform routine adjustments to maintain production.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow safety regulations.
• Assist with quality investigations as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Spartanburg, SC plant is seeking an experienced Die Cut Operator to join our production team for our second shift.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock:

• Responsible for setting up the machine for the production run, sheets, dies, etc.
• Operate the machine, following all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position, and department accurately.
• Evaluate production quality and bring concerns to the appropriate lead or supervisor.
• Perform routine adjustments during the production run and maintain production throughout the run.
• Perform all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety regulations.
• Contribute to quality investigations when necessary.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous die cut experience and printing capability required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to lift, push and/or pull 50 lbs., navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and management.
