This temporary position is with NC Commerce, DWS - Workforce Solutions, located at 313 Chapanoke Road, Raleigh NC, Wake County 27603.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $50.42 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Details Of The Position

The primary purpose of the Disaster Relief Coordinator is to plan, organize, and oversee the execution of disaster relief grants, programs, or projects. Position provides daily programmatic leadership to workforce development board staff, coaches / counsels staff and external personnel on proper administration of National Dislocated Worker Grants (NDWG) and other dislocated work grants administered by the State and/or local workforce development boards.

• Reviews and interprets federal laws and regulations and provides strategy and leadership in developing, implementing and monitoring disaster relief grants.
• Assists in evaluating state-level policies and procedures that connect North Carolina's local workforce development boards, other grantees, and partners, and the distribution of grant funding, as it relates to disaster relief grants.
• Will have technical and administrative responsibilities of assigned grants, convening both internal and external partners, such as the NC Department of Commerce staff, workforce development education partners, businesses, and local government, leaders, and other service providers, and partners.
• Will communicate via email, phone, and in person with US DOL and other funders.
• Will perform evaluation and analysis of policies, procurement, performance, and other data to assure efficient and effective direction of services and resources are also responsibilities of this position.

Some local travel with opportunities for conference attendance is encouraged as is similar joint collaborations with DWS staff and workforce partners.

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of progressive experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
