Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Dialysis unit. The role involves providing direct patient care, coordinating admissions and discharges, and delivering patient and family education.

The unit operates 24/7 with a focus on healing, wellness, and evidence-based nursing practice. The RN will perform nursing rounds, assessments and treatments and participate in care planning across disciplines, maintaining compassionate and patient-centered care throughout the

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Basic life support must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class as required by department.
• Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll in a bachelor’s degree program within 12 months and complete it within 5 years.

• Coordinate admission, transfer and discharge activities; educate patients and families.

Unit Overview:

Dialysisunit services all inpatients that require hemodialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange, or plasmapheresis during their hospital admission; either within the department and/or critical care areas. Dialysis services are available as needed 24/7.

Shift: Full-time, 1st Shift

Job Description:

• The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provisionof nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning asapplicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
