Job summary

Health Systems Management, Inc. seeks compassionate Patient Care Technicians to support dialysis treatment under RN guidance. The role involves setup, monitoring, and safe patient care across clinics in the region, with emphasis on infection control and safety.

Sign-on bonus available for CCHT/CHT certifications. Candidates should have at least 6 months of healthcare experience, a high school diploma, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 6 months of healthcare and/or direct patient care experience required.
• Must pass the Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam within 18 months of employment.
• Must have or obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must be comfortable working around blood and needles, including cannulation.
• Excellent bedside manner and communication skills.
• Authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship available at this time.

Responsibilities

• Set up the hemodialysis machine.
• Greet patients and collect treatment details; report concerns to the lead nurse.
• Assist with vascular access preparation for treatment.
• Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis per procedures and standards of care.
• Measure and document patient vital signs before, during, and after dialysis.
• Calculate and document fluid removal for patients.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and intervene when needed.
• Monitor dialysis machine for malfunctions and report issues.
• Follow infection control practices (hand hygiene, PPE, universal precautions).
• Maintain patient safety and comfort; assist with activities of daily living.
• Respond to emergency situations as they arise.
• Work involves exposure to blood, needles, and bodily fluids.
• May be required to move equipment up to 30 pounds and up to five feet.
