Job summary

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and inquire about their wellbeing since their last treatment.
• Evaluate venous access patency and perform cannulation as allowed by state law.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs and document the results.
• Initiate dialysis per orders, monitor treatment, and document responses.
• Discontinue dialysis and assess patient prior to venous access termination.
• Record dialysis parameters on the treatment sheet and ensure accurate documentation.
• Report significant changes in patient condition to the RN or supervisor.
• Perform machine safety checks and maintain clean, disinfected equipment and environment.
• Assist in training direct care staff and support CQI activities.
