Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Kentucky is seeking a dedicated dialysis technician to assist in safe, effective dialysis treatment under supervision. You will set up and operate hemodialysis machines, monitor patient responses, and ensure clean, compliant care environments.

You will educate patients on treatment processes, record vital signs and treatment data, and collaborate with the nursing team to support quality improvement initiatives and adherence to CQI goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification within required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines per orders.
• Monitor patient vital signs during treatment.
• Cannulate vascular access and administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
• Record pre/post treatment vital signs and document treatment parameters.
• Ensure safety alarms and machine functionality are maintained per policy.
• Educate patients on treatment processes and disease management.
