Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Ashland, KY is seeking a dedicated dialysis technician to join the patient care team. You will support safe, effective dialysis delivery under RN supervision and participate in CQI activities.

Under supervision, you will set up and operate hemodialysis machines, monitor vital signs, record treatment data, and help maintain a clean, safe environment while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved certification within required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education and training required.
• CPR certification required or to be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines per prescribed orders.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Record vital signs, weight and dialysis parameters; document on treatment sheets.
• Monitor and respond to intradialytic issues; report changes to RN or supervisor.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and maintain machine safety checks.
• Perform infection control duties and maintain a clean treatment area.
• Assist with transition to home dialysis and patient education as directed.
• Complete documentation and participate in CQI activities.
