PIH Health Whittier Hospital is seeking a dialysis patient care technician (PCT) who will assist in dialysis sessions under the supervision of the inpatient dialysis RN. The PCT provides direct and indirect patient care and ensures equipment quality and compliance with hospital policies.

The role supports patient comfort and safety across pre, intra, and post-dialysis care and collaborates with nursing and clinical teams to maintain high standards of care in a busy inpatient setting.

Job description

The dialysis patient care technician (PCT) will provide care for the patient receiving dialysis, before, during and after the dialysis treatment, under the direct supervision and delegation of the acute inpatient dialysis Registered Nurse (RN). The dialysis PCT will provide direct and non-direct patient care, under their scope of practice, as deemed necessary by the acute inpatient dialysis RN. In addition, the dialysis PCT will provide quality assurance for machines and equipment in compliance with hospital policy and federal regulations.
