Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Florida is hiring a patient care technician to support the dialysis team under RN supervision. The role centers on setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, maintaining a safe, clean environment, and helping patients during treatment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-certified state and/or national certification within required timelines.
• State licensure, education, and training requirements.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform vascular access cannulation.
• Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs and weight.
• Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders.
• Monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy.
• Record vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and operating correctly.
• Prepare initial patient chart for admission and compile paperwork.
