Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in New Haven, CT seeks a patient care technician to support dialysis therapy under RN supervision. You will set up hemodialysis machines, monitor patients, document vitals, and ensure safety and cleanliness throughout the shift.

The role includes training through Fresenius programs, collaboration with the dialysis team, and adherence to CQI activities to improve patient outcomes. Must be able to lift and assist patients as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access and perform cannulation and heparin administration as delegated.
• Obtain pre/post treatment vitals and weight; document treatment parameters.
• Initiate dialysis per orders and monitor patient response.
• Maintain safety and infection control; clean and disinfect equipment and environment.
