Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Hackensack, NJ seeks a dialysis technician to join the health care team under supervision, ensuring safe and effective dialysis therapy. You will assist in setting up machines, monitor patient condition, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities include educating patients on dialysis adequacy measures, evaluating vascular access, recording vital signs, and ensuring accurate treatment documentation per physician orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-certified state or national requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on adequacy measures and dialysis concepts.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; monitor response to dialysis.
• Initiate dialysis per orders, manage QB/QD, and document treatment.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and report changes to RN or supervisor.
• Disinfect equipment and maintain clean, safe treatment areas.
