Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in the United States seeks a dialysis technician to join the health care team under RN supervision. You will set up and operate hemodialysis machines and help maintain a safe, clean treatment area while supporting CQI activities.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, evaluating access patency, performing cannulation, administering heparin as allowed, recording vital signs, treating per orders, and documenting treatment data to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation.
• Administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
• Obtain pre/post treatment vital signs and weight; document.
• Initiate dialysis per prescribed orders (QB, QD).
• Monitor patient response to dialysis therapy and intervene as prescribed.
• Record treatment data accurately on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and other records.
• Report significant changes to the RN or supervisor.
• Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment and equipment.
