Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join our dialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy. You will deliver direct patient care, perform dialysis procedures, monitor patients, and document care in the patient record.

The role requires 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience (dialysis preferred), state licensure as an LPN/LVN, and completion of the Nurses Technical Training Program.

Qualifications

• One year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.
• ICU experience preferred but not required.
• Must complete the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire or soon thereafter.
• Ability to provide coverage at area facilities during times of short-staffing or as required.
• Nurses Color Blindness test may be required as a condition of employment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for assigned patient(s) on dialysis.
• Perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed and monitor treatments.
• Document dialysis treatment parameters and patient information.
• Report significant changes in patient condition or equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Educate patient and family about end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet and medications.
• Participate in emergency procedures and maintain safety in the dialysis facility.
