Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or as required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Nephrology Nursing experience within the last 2 years.
• Chronic hemodialysis nursing experience required.
• Two verified references (one manager, one peer).
• Ability to meet compliance requirements including: physician's statement, color vision exam, TB test, and immunizations.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments.
• Collect, analyze, and document patient data in medical records and adjust treatments.
• Educate patients and families on dialysis and disease management.
• Direct and coordinate delivery of hemodialysis treatments for assigned patients.
• Delegate tasks to dialysis staff and ensure safe procedures.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Assist with emergency response measures when needed.
• Support staff training and orientation.
• Ensure proper lab specimen collection and follow-up on missed collections.
• Develop and update nursing assessments and care plans with the team.
• Promote awareness of kidney transplant options and treatment modalities.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
