Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks a dialysis technician to join the team in North Carolina. You will assist in setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, monitor patient status during treatment, and maintain a safe, clean environment under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities include cannulation, heparin administration as allowed, vital signs collection, treatment documentation, and participation in CQI and infection control efforts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate vascular access patency, perform cannulation and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight; initiate dialysis per orders (QB, QD).
• Record vitals and treatment parameters; document all pertinent information on Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis; intervene as prescribed and report changes to RN/supervisor.
• Disinfect and clean equipment and environment between treatments; follow infection control policies.
