Job summary

You will evaluate vascular access, assist with cannulation, record vital signs, and document treatment data. The role supports CQI activities and adheres to infection control practices and facility policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must meet CMS certification requirements within the required state.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Welcome patients, assess wellbeing since last treatment, and monitor response to therapy.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency, cannulation, and administer heparin as delegated.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; document accurately.
• Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatment per orders; manage alarms and safety checks.
• Report significant changes to the registered nurse or supervisor and participate in CQI activities.
