Job summary

Qualifications

• Assists in dialysis education for patients including adequacy measures.
• Supports infection control and CQI activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Welcome assigned patients, monitor wellbeing, and record vital signs.
• Evaluate vascular access, perform cannulation, and administer heparin as delegated.
• Obtain pre/post treatment vital signs, weight, and document; initiate dialysis per orders.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis therapy and report changes to RN or supervisor.
• Maintain safety alarms and proper documentation on treatment sheets.
• Assist in training of direct patient care staff and maintain a clean environment.
• Follow infection control policies and participate in CQI activities.
