Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Maryland seeks a dedicated dialysis technician to join our team under RN supervision. You will assist in setup/operation of hemodialysis machines, monitor patients, document vital signs, and support infection control and safety protocols during treatments.

The role involves educating patients, preparing supplies, performing pretreatment tests, and ensuring accurate recording of treatment data while maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CMS/state certification requirements within required state or CMS timeline.
• Ability to perform tasks with attention to patient safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing.
• Evaluate vascular access patency and perform cannulation as needed.
• Obtain vital signs and weight; document treatment parameters.
• Initiate dialysis according to orders and monitor patient response.
• Record treatment data accurately and maintain infection control practices.
• Prepare supplies and ensure safety alarms are enabled during treatment.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under RN supervision.
