Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician in Maryland to support safe dialysis therapy under supervision. You will assist with setup and operation of dialysis machines, patient education, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities include patient check-ins, vascular access evaluation, vital signs, and accurate documentation while collaborating with RNs and the care team. Requires HS diploma, PCT certification, CPR, and prior patient care experience.

Qualifications

• At least five years of patient care experience preferred in hospital or related facility.
• CPR certification required; must complete dialysis training program.

Responsibilities

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire about wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation as directed.
• Obtain pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight.
• Initiate dialysis per prescribed orders including QB and QD.
• Record treatment data and document Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet accurately.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis and intervene as directed by physician.
