Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
• Continued employment dependent on successful completion of dialysis training and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hemodialysis machines.
• Evaluate vascular access during treatment and monitor pressures.
• Record vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and correct dialysis parameters are programmed.
• Maintain infection control and clean dialysis equipment and area.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under RN supervision.
• Prepare lab requisitions and collect specimens as required.
• Support CQI activities and document treatment data accurately.
