Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification within required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and operating hemodialysis machines and maintaining a safe, clean environment.
• Evaluate vascular access patency, cannulation, and administer heparin as delegated or allowed by state law.
• Record vital signs, weights, treatment parameters, and document onto Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet.
• Monitor patient response to dialysis therapy and report significant changes to RN or supervisor.
• Prepare initial patient chart for admission and compile paperwork for charting.
• Perform pretreatment machine alarm testing and ensure safety alarms are enabled.
• Participate in CQI activities and enter treatment data accurately into the clinical system.
