Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Olympia, WA seeks a patient care technician to support dialysis treatments under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role involves setting up and operating dialysis machines, ensuring a safe, clean treatment area, and maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory policies.

You will monitor patients during treatment, document vitals and treatment parameters, assist with access evaluation, and participate in CQI activities to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; CMS-approved state or national certification within required timeline.
• Must have CMS/state licensure requirements met for position.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required.
• CPR certification required for employment.
• Completion of dialysis training program required to commence duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of dialysis machines under RN supervision.
• Monitor patient wellbeing; record vital signs and treatment parameters.
• Evaluate vascular access and assist with cannulation and UF goals as prescribed.
• Document treatment data accurately in designated clinical systems.
• Maintain infection control and a safe, clean treatment environment.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under nurse supervision.
• Participate in CQI activities to improve patient outcomes.
