Job summary

U.S. Renal Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our dialysis team. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide safe, comfortable dialysis treatment, collect patient samples, monitor treatment, and ensure equipment readiness and safety.

The role requires high school completion, CPR within 90 days, and a willingness to obtain required certifications within 18 months. Training programs in hemodialysis and clinic protocols are provided within 8 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • CPR certification within 90 days of hire or as required by state.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
  • Prefer a minimum of 3 months in dialysis healthcare or phlebotomy experience or CNA experience.
  • Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire as Patient Care Technician.
  • Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must have basic computer skills; proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be able to organize time and tasks well.

Responsibilities

  • Patient care: You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment.
  • Technician Duties: You will prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments, clean and disinfect machines after treatment, and conduct machine safety checks and logging results.
  • Safety and Quality: You will use appropriate safety measures, follow supervision, and participate in staff meetings and continuing education.
