Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Florida is seeking a dialysis patient care technician to join the health care team under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role centers on safe and effective dialysis therapy, machine setup, monitoring patients, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

You will assist with pre/post treatment assessments, documentation, and adherence to CQI activities to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. A focus on education and patient safety is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• CMS-approved state or national certification requirements must be met.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operation of hemodialysis machines and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Evaluate vascular access and perform cannulation and heparin administration as allowed by state law.
• Record pre/post-treatment vital signs, weight, and treatment parameters; monitor patient response.
• Initiate dialysis per orders and manage safety alarms and procedures.
• Document treatment data and report changes to the RN or supervisor.
