Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging and support radiology teams across age groups.

Under supervision of the Mammography/Ultrasound Supervisor, you will produce quality images, verify with Radiologists, and document in HIS/RIS/PACS. The role requires an Associate Degree in medical imaging, ARDMS eligibility, BLS, and strong patient care skills.

Qualifications

• Level of knowledge equivalent to an Associate Degree in medical imaging or health field.
• Registration or registry eligible by the ARDMS; no restrictions prohibiting work as ultrasonographer in MA.
• May obtain additional registrations in Vascular, Breast, GYN, Abdominal.
• BLS healthcare provider before end of 90-day probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient information and history; adjust imaging procedures for patient size, age, or condition.
• Assist, transfer, and position patients; select appropriate scan parameters.
• Process and record scanned images per Radiologist protocol; document in HIS/RIS/PACS.
• Maintain QA and equipment sanitation; keep rooms stocked and clean.
• Stay current with ultrasonography developments through study or courses; participate in professional organizations.
• Maintain competency in Trophon disinfection processes.
• Assist in other areas/modalities as needed.
