Job summary

UMass Memorial Health Breast Imaging position seeks an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform high-quality breast imaging under supervision of the Ultrasound Manager. You will aid radiologists, ensure patient safety, and uphold hospital protocols.

The role requires ARDMS breast certification within 12 months and an associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography; applicants with three years of breast imaging experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Specialized post-secondary training equal to two years of college.
• ARDMS Certification in Breast – required within 1 year of hire date.
• Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Responsibilities

• Perform breast ultrasound exams with high diagnostic quality.
• Assist physicians during invasive procedures (biopsies, aspirations).
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring infection control and safety.
• Position patients to ensure comfort and optimal imaging results.
• Operate imaging systems and maintain accurate documentation.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure rooms are clean and ready.
