Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to perform ultrasound imaging studies in the Vascular Lab.

You will conduct exams according to department guidelines, communicate procedures to patients, document results in the EMR/PACS, and participate in billing and quality improvement.

The role requires 40 hours per week, day shift, with ongoing professional development and adherence to safety, infection control, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved AS program in Medical Sonography or scheduled to graduate from approved BS with RDMS(AS) certification.
• RDMS AB/BR/PS/RMSKS/RVT certifications as applicable.
• 2–5 years’ experience in abdominal, musculoskeletal, breast and obstetrics/gynecology preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures and examinations according to established department guidelines.
• Clearly communicates – explains exam procedure to patient and family to ensure understanding and consent.
• Assesses patient’s medical status by taking a history before the exam.
• Assembles a patient chart and enters information into PACS/EMR.
• Records imaging studies for review by Medical Director or designee.
• Completes patient billing accurately and timely.
