Job summary

Fish Brothers Volkswagen Service Centre in Swindon is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join our Volkswagen Group service team. You'll diagnose and repair across multiple VW Group brands, including VW, Skoda, SEAT and CUPRA, using manufacturer training and cutting-edge diagnostic tools.

You’ll work on petrol, diesel, hybrids and EV components, with opportunities to progress toward Master Technician level as you develop your skills and qualifications within a supportive workshop

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Service & Repair or equivalent is required.
• Demonstrated diagnostic experience with modern vehicles.
• Strong problem solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostic work to manufacturer standards.
• Identify and resolve complex faults using diagnostic information.
• Road test and analyse faults with the workshop team to ensure accurate repairs.

This is a genuine Diagnostic Technician opportunity. Alongside servicing and repair work, you’ll be trusted to investigate faults, interpret diagnostic information and solve more complex technical issues.

From established petrol and diesel powertrains through to hybrid and fully electric vehicles, you’ll be working with a broad range of Volkswagen Group technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Diagnostic Technician, you’ll carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostic work to manufacturer standards, with particular responsibility for identifying and resolving more complex faults.

You’ll use diagnostic equipment and technical information to investigate vehicle issues, carry out road testing and fault analysis where required, and work closely with the wider workshop and Service Advisor team to ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.

Just as importantly, you’ll bring a methodical approach to problem solving and take pride in getting the diagnosis right.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need to hold an NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Service & Repair or equivalent, with strong technical and diagnostic experience.

Previous Volkswagen Group experience would be a real advantage, particularly if you already have experience with Volkswagen, Skoda, SEAT, CUPRA or Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. However, we’re also interested in hearing from experienced Diagnostic Technicians from other manufacturer backgrounds who have the technical ability and enthusiasm to develop their Volkswagen Group knowledge.

You’ll be someone who enjoys problem solving, works well as part of a workshop team and wants to continue developing their technical career.
