Job summary

Duke Health Cary is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer for an on-site position. You will operate ultrasound equipment and communicate diagnostic results for exams including abdominal, vascular, OB-GYN, infant head/hip/spine, and interventional procedures.

Required ARDMS certification within 18 months; Level II requires 2+ years and Level III 4+ years in the specialty. A clinical ladder and generous relocation/commitment bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification.
• ARDMS certification within 18 months of hire.
• Level II requires 2+ years of sonographer experience.
• Level III requires 4+ years in the specialty modality.

Responsibilities

• Operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
• Include abdominal, vascular, small parts, OB-GYN, vascular, infant head/hip/spine and interventional procedures.
• Use cognitive skills to identify, record and adapt procedures to clinical information.
• Communicate findings to Radiologist and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Assist with daily ultrasound department operations and billing/tracking.
