Job summary

Villa Maria School System seeks an experienced Program Coordinator to lead its Type III Diagnostic School Program, ensuring organizational excellence and adherence to MSDE requirements.

The role acts as Education Director of record, coordinating testing services, documentation, and collaboration with leadership to support students with complex needs and transitions to appropriate placements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education, Education, Educational Leadership/Administration, School Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Four (4) years of teaching experience required, including experience with students with emotional disabilities, reading remediation, and test administration and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the Type III Diagnostic Program in coordination with school leadership to ensure the program is organized, appropriately staffed, and aligned with MSDE requirements.
• Serves as the designated Education Director of record for the Type III Diagnostic Program and maintains program practices and reporting consistent with MSDE/COMAR requirements.
• Supervises, evaluates, coaches, and supports assigned program staff to promote effective instruction and professional learning.
• Conducts informal educational testing to identify student strengths and needs, and develops Personal Education Plans (PEP) for ITP/IEP planning.
• Develops and implements remediation plans in Language Arts/Math to address skill gaps and prepare students for transitions.

Education

Advanced Professional Licensure by the Maryland State Department of Education
