Job summary

Riley Children’s Health in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate x-ray, fluoro, and fluoroscopy equipment, explain procedures to patients, and position them safely. You will collaborate with radiologists and referrers, adhere to radiation safety protocols, and document patient histories in the EMR.

After exams, monitor patients for safety and assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant radiology experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required
• Ability to maneuver imaging equipment and improvise positions as needed
• Active ARRT RT(R) credential or board eligibility with credential obtained within 6 months
• ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist or ISDH Radiology Student Permit

Overview

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
