Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indiana is seeking a Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)) to operate imaging equipment including x-ray, fluoroscopy, and portable systems. You will explain exams, position patients, and collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure high-quality images.

You will follow radiation safety protocols, document patient histories in the EMR, monitor patients during exams, and assist with minimally invasive procedures when needed.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant radiologic technologist experience.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required.
• Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when needed.
• Active RT(R) credential or board-eligible; obtain credential within 6 months.
• Current ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist or ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Job description

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
• Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
