Qualifications

• Doctorate or medical degree required.
• Physician license in the state of Michigan (MD or DO) upon hire.
• DEA registration required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and cultivate positive, productive relationships with Corewell Health personnel and promote a culture of safety, teamwork, compassion, collaboration, clarity, curiosity, and courage.
• Assist in meeting operational, financial, and patient satisfaction goals; complete competencies and organizational mandatories.
• Assess and monitor medical needs; provide quality medical services in a cost-effective, appropriate manner and ensure patient coverage.
• Communicate plan of care with patients, families, referring physicians, and hospital staff, including rapid updates for major changes and discharge planning.
• Participate in on-call and weekend coverage; engage in value-based care initiatives and quality programs.
• Contribute to Quality Improvement and peer review; aid development of medical policies and procedures.
• Support process improvement and clinical path development; participate in clinical trials and research as appropriate.
• Provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship to fellows, residents, APPs, and students; collaborate with affiliated medical schools.
