Job summary

UPMC Chautauqua seeks a Diagnostic Technologist to join the Imaging team in a full-time role. The position offers a flexible schedule with rotating weekends and holidays and a supportive, collaborative environment focused on high-quality patient care.

ARRT certification is not required at hire; graduates are welcome. The role involves performing radiography procedures with independent judgment and proper use of imaging equipment, while ensuring accurate documentation and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registry eligible; must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date.
• CPR or BLS required; NY licensure may be needed for NY facilities.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patients using two identifiers and applies universal protocol.
• Administers PO and rectal contrast per physician orders.
• Ensures exams are coded and archived in RIS and linked to ISITE for interpretation.
• Performs diagnostic radiography procedures per established protocols with minimal supervision.
• Operates complex imaging equipment to acquire and document image data.
• Communicates clearly with patients to explain procedures and ease anxiety.
• Adjusts imaging protocols as needed to optimize diagnostic results.
